Kimberly Dawn Powers, 24, of Carrollton died suddenly April 18, 2013, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Her daughter, Telisa Jailyn Powers, age 5, also died in the accident with her mother. Kimberly was born in Athens, Tennessee, on January 13, 1989, the daughter of Telisa Ann Jones Powers and the late Timothy D. Powers, Sr. She lived her lifetime in this area and was an honor graduate of Villa Rica High School. She worked as a stay-at-home mom for her two children and was a devoted and loving mother and homemaker. She was a member of Midway West Baptist Church, 3160 West Highway 166, Carrollton, where she served as part of the hospitality team and was a member of Life Group. In addition to her father, Timothy D. Powers, Sr., who died on April 29, 2009, she was preceded in death by her brother, Justin Lee Powers, her paternal grandfather, Dalton Powers and her paternal grandmother, Betty Willis Powers. Survivors include her mother, Telisa Jones Powers of Carrollton; her infant son, Tavarius Cardell Smith of Carrollton; maternal grandfather, Millard James Jones of Villa Rica; maternal grandmother, Martha Dalton of Cleveland, Tennessee; two brothers, Timothy Keith Powers, Jr. and Kevin Lamar Powers, both of Carrollton; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted for Kimberly Dawn Powers and her daughter, Telisa Jailyn Powers on Monday, April 22, 2013, at 5:00 P.M. from the chapel of the J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home with Pastor Hal Waters and Pastor Keith Jiles officiating. Pallbearers will be Brett Powers, Shane Smith, Matthew Perkins, Rusty Crowder, Dale Lipham and Jeff Bishop. Interment will follow in West Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, April 22, 2013, from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour at 5:00 P.M..
