He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Stone and Annie Stone; and his siblings, Danny Stone and Carolyn Hicks. He is survived by : his wife Peggy Farmer Stone; his children, Tommy Stone (Melodie), Jessica McCurdy (Ben), Greg Robinson (Regina), Suzanne Hyatt (Kenneth) and John Huey; his brother Gary Stone (Tabitha); his grandchildren, Cameron, David, Ethan, Jayda, Madison, Kamren, Megan, Chris, Tyler, Lindsay, Kamryn, Kaleb, Brady, Denise, Cody and Heather; and his great grandchildren, Morgan, Scarlett and Hudson. Mrs. Peggy Joyce Farmer Stone, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on November 14, 2021. She was 71.
Mrs. Peggy was so special to so many people. She loved talking on the phone and keeping in touch with family and friends on Facebook. She loved spending time with her family and always was full of questions to know what was going on in everyone’s lives. She was retired after working many years as a waitress. She loved attending church at New Life Center Church of God in Wedowee, Alabama and enjoyed singing and praising her Lord. And now she is in her heavenly home rejoicing with her Lord and Savior and getting reacquainted with her husband, parents, and all her other loved ones that went before her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace Cantrell Farmer, Dick Farmer, and Dalton Powers, her husband of 26 years, Terry Lee Stone; and her sister, Sandra Farmer Farr.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Suzanne and Kenneth Hyatt, Greg and Regina Robinson, and John Huey; her siblings, Johnny and Lynn Farmer, Ronnie and Regina Farmer, Tracie Powers, and Lynn Bragg; her grandchildren, Megan and Chris Maddox, Tyler J. Robinson, Lindsay and Tyler Daniel, Kamryn Huey, Kaleb Hyatt, Brady Robinson, Denise “Goose” Hyatt, and Cody Hyatt; great-grandchildren, Morgan Maddox, Scarlett and Hudson Hyatt; an aunt who was more like a sister, Betty McCarty; brother-in-law, Gary Stone; a special friend, Tabitha Lewis; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Rainwater Funeral Home. Bro. Jerry Smith and Bro. Marcus McIntosh will officiate. Interment will be held at Camp Creek Baptist Church. Prior to the services on Wednesday, the family will receive friend at the funeral home from 1:00 till 3:00 p.m.

Dalton Powers: Dalton Powers, 61, 285 Akin Road, Carrollton, died Nov. 2, 1990 following a one car accident on McKenzie Bridge Road. He was born in Carroll County, April 19, 1929, son of the late William Lonnie and Alice Alberta Duke Powers. He had lived in Carroll County all of his life. He was an attendant at Haynes Chevron Service Station and a Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife, the former Jackie Price Samples; four daughters, Sandra Massengale and Peggy Rollins of Bowdon, Tracie Powers and Lynn Powers of Carrollton; two sons, Steve Powers and Tim Powers of Carrollton; 20 grandchildren; three sisters, Annie Kate Wyatt, Opal Gay and Edna Richardson, all of Carrollton; and two brothers, Garland Powers and Clarence Powers of Carrollton. Services were conducted Monday, Nov. 5, from Lee's Chapel Church with Rev. Grant Finnell officiating. Music was by Newt and Louise Holmes. Pallbearers were Jackie Cook, Jerrell Haynes, Winston Harper, Jerry Phillips, Bobby Harper and Jackie Richardson. Interment was in the church cemetery with the American Legion Post 143 folding and presenting the flag. Martin & Hightower West Center Street Chapel of Carrollton was in charge of arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace Cantrell Farmer, Dick Farmer, and Dalton Powers, her husband of 26 years, Terry Lee Stone; and her sister, Sandra Farmer Farr.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Suzanne and Kenneth Hyatt, Greg and Regina Robinson, and John Huey; her siblings, Johnny and Lynn Farmer, Ronnie and Regina Farmer, Tracie Powers, and Lynn Bragg; her grandchildren, Megan and Chris Maddox, Tyler J. Robinson, Lindsay and Tyler Daniel, Kamryn Huey, Kaleb Hyatt, Brady Robinson, Denise “Goose” Hyatt, and Cody Hyatt; great-grandchildren, Morgan Maddox, Scarlett and Hudson Hyatt; an aunt who was more like a sister, Betty McCarty; brother-in-law, Gary Stone; a special friend, Tabitha Lewis; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Rainwater Funeral Home. Bro. Jerry Smith and Bro. Marcus McIntosh will officiate. Interment will be held at Camp Creek Baptist Church. Prior to the services on Wednesday, the family will receive friend at the funeral home from 1:00 till 3:00 p.m.

Gerald Farmer

Gerald Farmer (son of Charles Clayton Farmer and Jerusha Ella Inez Hale) was born on June 19, 1933 in Alabama.  He died on October 31, 2021.  He married Grace Cantrell (daughter of Bill Cantrell and Lula). She was born on September 27, 1927 in Mount Zion, Carroll, Georgia. She died on December 31, 2019.

Grace Cantrell was buried at the First Baptist Church of Ranburne Cemetery in Ranburne, Cleburne, Alabama.

Grace Cantrell Farmer, of Bowdon, Georgia, passed away on December 31, 2019. She was 92. Mrs. Farmer was born on September 27, 1927 in Mt. Zion, Georgia to the late Bill and Lula Cantrell. She was retired from Lamar Manufacturing where she worked as a seamstress. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, loved shopping, and traveling. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Farmer Farr; her brothers, J.W. Cantrell, Joe Bill Cantrell, and Frank Cantrell; and her sisters, Jimmie Lou Marlow, Mary Cantrell, and Sally Henderson. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Dick Farmer; her children and their spouses, Peggy and Terry Stone, Johnny and Lynn Farmer, and Ronnie and Regina Farmer; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty Sue and Steve McCarty; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Cantrell; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Rainwater Funeral Home. Bro. Jerry Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Ranburne Cemetery. Mr. Willie Joe Farmer, of Bowdon, Georgia, passed away on June 27, 2016. He was 72. Mr. Farmer was born on December 27, 1943 in Ranburne, Alabama to the late Clayton and Inez Farmer. He was the owner of Joe’s Body Shop and was a retired bus driver for the Carroll County Board of Education. He enjoyed repairing televisions that he would repair and sell at the flea market and working on old cars. He also enjoyed watching old western movies and game shows. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Ann Blackmon Farmer; and his brother, L.C. Farmer. Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Bouldin (Chad); his step-daughters, Robin Parris and Brittany Wright (Tony); his brothers, Dick Farmer (Grace) and Kirby Ray Farmer (Fannie Bell); his sister, Glenda Lovvorn (Wayne); and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Rainwater Funeral Home. Bro. Darnell Teal and Bro. Buddy Gentry will officiate. Interment will follow at Corinth Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Times-Georgian
