Deloris Katherine Bailey

Deloris Katherine Bailey (daughter of Robert Bailey and Peggy Hilliard) was born on July 14, 1941 in Joplin, Missouri.  She died on October 20, 2007.  She married Mr. Saunders.

Mr. Mayfield worked for General Motors for more than 25 years. He was a member of New Genesis Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 30 years, and is currently a member of the Dallas Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Jackson Mayfield, of Douglasville, GA; sons, David Saunders of MS, Steven Saunders of Dallas, GA; daughters, Jacquelyn Chandler of Gainesville, GA, Debra Osborn, of Austin, TX, Sandy Mayfield of Dallas, GA; several grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 03, 2017 from the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery

Marion Chalmers Mayfield

Marion Chalmers Mayfield (son of Marion Asbury Mayfield and Eunice O. Hall) was born on December 31, 1932 in Villa Rica, Carroll, Georgia.  He died on December 31, 2016 in Douglas County, Georgia.  He married Delores Katherine Bailey (daughter of Robert Bailey and Peggy Hilliard).  She was born on July 14, 1941 in Joplin, Missouri.  She died on October 20, 2007.

Marion Chalmers Mayfield was buried in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs, Douglas, Georgia.

Georgia Betty Jackson was buried at Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery in Dallas, Paulding, Georgia.

Georgia had a daughter name Jacquelyn who was first married to Kenneth Rogers and then to Kelly Chandler.  I do not know who Georgia's first husband was or what Jacquelyn's maiden name would be.

Georgia Betty Mayfield, age 81, of Douglasville (Paulding County), passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital.
Ms. Mayfield was born in Atlanta, GA, on June 19, 1938 to the late Grover Lamar Jackson and Eunice Viola Jackson. She was a faithful member of New Genesis Baptist Church. Ms. Mayfield was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Chalmers Mayfield; son in laws, Kenneth Rogers and Kelly Chandler; brother, Don Jackson and a sister, Elaine McFarland.
Survivors include her daughters, Jackie Chandler of Gainsville, GA, Sandy Mayfield of Douglasville, GA; three brothers, Wesley and Annette Jackson of Louisville, KY, Charles and Ellen Jackson of Fairburn, GA, and Larry Jackson of Douglasville, GA; three sisters, Bonnie and Roy Wallace of Douglasville, GA, Diane and Morgan Turner of Villa Rica, GA, and Debra Lucas of Douglasville, GA; extended generations and special friends.

Emory Jackson Bailey

Emory Jackson Bailey (son of Inghrum Bailey and Hattie Ann Canterbury) was born on June 28, 1929 in Glen Morgan, Raleigh, West Virginia. He died on December 2, 1987. He married Wilma Jean Cline on January 21, 1952 in Wyoming County, West Virginia. She was born on January 23, 1937 in West Virginia. She died on August 10, 2004.

Emory Jackson Bailey and Wilma Jean Cline are buried at the City of Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, Maricopa, Arizona.

He liked to look good on and off the course. After retirement, he and Melanie traveled and had lots of fun. The past few years Randy began baking and he was very good at that too! He truly loved his beautiful daughters, Kelee, Amy & Miranda and was very proud of the women they had grown up to be. He was a good friend to Nick as well. And loved his smart, talented and good looking grandchildren, always saying the apple didn't fall far from the family tree. Family will be receiving guests at Calfee Funeral Home on Oakwood Avenue in Beckley, WV on Tuesday, January 8th from 6pm to 8pm. The funeral liturgy will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church at 11am on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.

Bernard A. Bailey (son of Inghrum Bailey and Hattie Ann Canterbury) was born on March 9, 1925 in Arista, Mercer, West Virginia.  He died on January 29, 2001.  He married Nancy M. Lamb (daughter of Okey Johnson Lamb and Goldie Bailey) on November 30, 1946 in Oceana, Wyoming, West Virginia.  She was born on November 15, 1928 in Glen Morgan, Raleigh, West Virginia.  She died on December 11, 2020 in Oceana, Wyoming, West Virginia.

Nancy M. Lamb is buried at Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny, Wyoming, West Virginia.

Nancy M. Bailey, 92, of Oceana, passed away Friday December 11, 2020. Born November 15, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Oakie and Goldie Lamb. Nancy is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a talented quilter and a wonderful cook. Nancy was a beautiful soul inside and out. She will be sadly missed by all.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Bernard A. Bailey Sr.; her daughter, Linda Morea;  sons in law, Earl Stewart and Randy Kennedy; sisters, Iris Cline, Virginia Walker, Mary Bailey, Hazel Evans, Helen Rollins and Ruby Parker; brothers, Bernard, Harold and Franklin Lamb and her father and mother in law, Ingram and Hattie Bailey.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, David M. Bailey and Bernard Bailey and his wife Lakie; daughters, Brenda Ann Turner and her husband Jim, Alice Stewart and Melanie Kennedy and son in law, Richard Morea; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Seldon Ralph Bailey (son of Inghrum Bailey and Hattie Ann Canterbury) was born on May 10, 1923 in Arista, Mercer, West Virginia.  He died in August 1984 in Kopperston, Wyoming, West Virginia.  He married Mary Elizabeth Lamb (daughter of Okey Johnson Lamb and Goldie Bailey) on February 24, 1951 in Wyoming County, West Virginia.  She was born on April 21, 1931 in Oceana, Wyoming, West Virginia.  She died on April 8, 2002 in Princeton, Mercer, West Virginia.

Seldon Ralph Bailey and Mary Elizabeth Lamb were buried in Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny, Wyoming, West Virginia.

Hattie Ann Canterbury (daughter of Monteville Perry Canterbury and Chloa Ann Cozart) was born in July 1898 in West Virginia.  She died in 1977.  She married Inghrum Bailey (son of Charles Whitlock Calfee Bailey and Macallia Ann Meadows) on May 4, 1921 in Mercer County, West Virginia.  He was born on March 4, 1895 in Mercer County, West Virginia.  He died in March 1979 in Beckley, Raleigh, West Virginia.

Hattie Ann Canterbury and Inghrum Bailey are buried at Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny, Wyoming, West Virginia.

Obituary of Ingram Bailey
Ingram Bailey, 81, died Tuesday in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. Born March 4, 1895, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Charles Whitlock "C.W.C." Calfee Bailey & Macallia "Celia" Ann Meadows-Bailey 
He was a retired coal miner, having worked in the mines for 47 years, was a veteran of World War I, was a member of the United Mine Workers Local 7604.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Chloa Ann Bailey; his siblings, Josiah N. Bailey, Mandy L. Bailey, Charles E. Bailey, & Millard F. Bailey; his stepmother, Mary Elvira Burton-Bailey and half brother, Willie W. Bailey.
Survivors include his wife Hattie Ann Canterbury-Bailey whom he married on May 4, 1921 in Mercer County, WV; three sons, Seldon Ralph Bailey of Kopperston, Bernard Bailey of Oceana and Jack Bailey of Chandler, AZ.
He is also survived by five brothers, Kelly J. Bailey of MA, Dee Bailey of Princeton, George Bailey of Spanishburg, Alton Bailey of Rock and George of Way Cross, GA; five sisters, Minnie Bailey-Farley, and Toddie Bailey Schultz, both of Princeton, Nora B. Bailey-Agee of Fireco, Eulah Bailey-Adkins of Huntington and Vida A. Bailey of Bluefield; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Ingram Bailey was PVT, US Army, World War I veteran. He died at age 81 following a long illness. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.

Bernard Steven Canterbury

Bernard Steven Canterbury (son of James Virgil Canterbury and Betty Katherine Skeens) was born in May 30, 1948 in Herndon, Wyoming, West Virginia.  He died on April 17, 2007.  He married Dorothy Lee Bailey (daughter of Charles Winton Bailey and Nettie Thelma Brown) on March 21, 1967 in Pearisburg, Giles, Virginia.  She was born in 1951 in Bluefield, Mercer, West Virginia.

1.  Bernard Steven Canterbury 

He married Ruby Comer (daughter of Bennett O. Comer and Lexie).

Madge Lucille Bailey

Madge Lucille Bailey (daughter of Josiah Floyd Bailey and Ollie Mae Canterbury) was born on September 10, 1920 in Matoaka, Mercer, West Virginia.  She died in 1952.  She married Edward William Pack (son of John W. Pack and Melissa Jane) on June 9, 1942 in Raleigh County, West Virginia.  He was born on August 10, 1920 in Raleigh, Raleigh, West Virginia.  He died on November 15, 1995 in Beckley, Raleigh, West Virginia.

Madge Lucille Bailey is buried at Raleigh Cemetery in Glen Morgan, Raleigh, West Virginia.  William Edward is buried at John R. Pack Cemetery in Beckley, Raleigh, West Virginia.

Children to this union are unknown.

Notes:
Madge died in an automobile accident.

Posey Joe Bailey

Posey Joe Bailey (son of Josiah Floyd Bailey and Ollie Mae Canterbury) was born on January 27, 1931 in Wyoming County, West Virginia.  He married Loretta Joy Brooks (daughter of Ott Brooks and Faye) on December 7, 1954 in Beckley, Raleigh, West Virginia.  She was born on December 5, 1933 in Beckley, Raleigh, West Virginia.

Children to this union are unknown.

Josiah Floyd Bailey

Josiah Floyd Bailey (son of Charles Whitlock Calfee Bailey and Macallia Ann Meador) was born on May 20, 1880 in Mercer County, West Virginia.  He died on November 4, 1954 in Raleigh County, West Virginia.  He married Loni Dale Shrewsberry.  She was born on July 9, 1885 in West Virginia.  She died in 1912.

Josiah Floyd Bailey is buried in Raleigh Cemetery in Glen Morgan, Raleigh, West Virginia.  Loni Dale Shrewsberry is buried in Wimmer Cemetery in Mercer County, West Virginia.

He married Ollie Mae Canterbury (daughter of Monteville Perry Canterbury and Chloa Ann Cozart) on May 14, 1913 in Wyoming County, West Virginia.  She was born on September 2, 1893 in Oceana, Wyoming, West Virginia.  She died on November 8, 1952 in Raleigh County, West Virginia.  

Ollie Mae Canterbury is buried in Raleigh Cemetery in Glen Morgan, Raleigh, West Virginia.

Mae Bailey is said to have been born in 1888 in her death and burial information.  Her marriage record and census records (except 1930, which suggests a 1900 birth) all agree with the 1893 birth year.

I am not related to the children of Josiah Floyd Bailey and Loni Dale Shrewsberry.  There descendants will not be recorded here.

A third marriage is shown on Find a grave for Josiah.  It is a marriage to Minnie Alice Snuffer.  It would be her 5th marriage.  I have not found any proof of this marriage yet.

MALLORY, W.Va. — Lena Walker, 94, of Mallory, died Sunday, January 11, 2004, at Logan Center Nursing Home.
She was born November 22, 1909, in Mercer County, a daughter of the late Joe Floyd and Loney Dale Shrewsberry Bailey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elva Walker; two grandsons, James Allen Hill and Craig Hill, and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sons, Ernest C. (Rose Ann) Walker of Davin, Jimmy (Armilda) Walker of Mallory and Elva H. (Sandy) Walker of Franklin, Ohio; four daughters, Lois Castle of Russells Point, Ohio, Betty Jo Hill of Cyclone, Phyllis J. (Bob) Cornelius of Gainesville, Fla., and Marietta (Tony) DiGregorio of Fairfax, Va.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home in Man with Rev. Brent Franco officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Family Cemetery at Oceana.
Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home of Man is in charge of the arrangements.
