Alonzo Eugene Weaver

Alonzo Eugene Weaver (son of Albert Eugene Weaver and Jane Ashton Mat'ere Bryce) was born on March 25, 1918 in Nassau County, Florida.  He died on April 12, 2010.  He married Elizabeth Jane Reynolds on December 26, 1942 in Casablanca, North Africa.  She was born on January 30, 1917 in Greenfield, Adair, Iowa.  She died on September 7, 2009 in Port Charlotte, Charlotte, Florida.

Alonzo Eugene Weaver and Elizabeth Jane Reynolds were buried at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Sarasota, Florida.

1.  Carl Frederick Weaver was born on May 31, 1946.
2.  Nancy Jo Weaver was born on July 25, 1950.

Port Charlotte- Alonzo Eugene "Gene" Weaver, age 92, died April 12, 2010 of heart failure.
Gene was born in Nassau County, FL. on March 25, 1918 to Albert E. & Jane (Mat'ere) Weaver. Gene worked for Agrico as a mining inspector and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps (W.W.II)
Gene was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Jane Weaver. Gene is survived by his son Carl F. Weaver, daughter Nancy Strickland, grandchildren Tom, Carey & Tarey, great grandchildren Keely & Fiona.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers donate to the charity of choice. A celebration of Gene's life will be held Monday April 19, 2010 @ 3:00 P.M. at Seigler Funeral Home-Chapel, Hwy. 60 E. Obituary of Elizabeth Weaver - The Ledger - September 27, 2009
PORT CHARLOTTE, FL. - Elizabeth Weaver died Sept. 7, 2009 of natural causes at Douglas T. Jacobson Veteran's Home in Port Charlotte, FL. at 92 years of age.
Jane was a graduate of Methodist Hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri as a registered nurse in 1939. She joined the Army in 1942 and served in WWII on the hospital Ship Acadia. Jane and Alonzo Eugene Weaver (Gene) were married in Casablanca, North Africa, December 26, 1942, first American couple married in the European Theatre.
Jane was a nurse for over 30 years, and a lifelong member of the Disciples of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gene Weaver, son Carl Weaver, D-I-L, Debbie of Kathleen, and daughter Nancy Strickland, S.I.L, Eugene, Anchorage, Alaska, three grandchildren: Tom Strickland, Carey Strickland, & Tarey Smith; and 2 great grandchildren: Keely & Fiona Smith.
A memorial service will be held at A.M. Seigler Funeral Home, 1300 East Canal St., Mulberry, FL., Sept. 30, 2009 at 1 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery on October 1st at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, send donations to F.R.O.M.
