James M. Powers

James M. Powers (son of John Patrick Powers and Margaret Marcella Coley) was born April 07, 1829 in Killucan Parish, Westmeath County, Ireland, and died August 14, 1911 in Coweta County, Georgia. He married Sarah Jane Huggins on February 14, 1861 in Coweta County, Georgia. She was born February 28, 1841 in Georgia and died January 07, 1893 in Coweta County, Georgia.

James served in the Civil War in the Confederate Army. He served as a Private in Co C 34 of the Georgia Infantry.

James and his wife are buried at Pikes/Powers/Huggins Cemetery in Newnan, Coweta, Georgia.

They had the following children:

1.  John H. Powers was born on February 19, 1963 in Georgia.  He died on July 23, 1868.  He was buried in the Pike/Powers/Huggins Cemetery in Newnan, Coweta, Georgia.

2.  Mary Isabelle Powers was born on May 29, 1865.

3.  Marcella E. Powers was born on May 28, 1867 in Coweta County, Georgia.  She died on August 14, 1868.  She was buried in the Pike/Powers/Huggins Cemetery in Newnan, Coweta, Georgia.

4.  Sarah Luella Powers was born on November 5, 1869.

5.  Ettie Dora Powers was born on May 8, 1870.

6.  James Lawrence Powers was born on November 24, 1871.

7.  Asa Thomas Powers was born on March 25, 1873.

8.  William Patrick Powers was born on January 7, 1874 in Coweta County, Georgia.  He died on December 16, 1886 in Coweta County, Georgia.  He was buried in the Pike/Powers/Huggins Cemetery in Newnan, Coweta, Georgia.

9.  Bridget Bessie Powers was born in November 1878.

10.  Infant Son Powers was born on July 10, 1884 in Coweta County, Georgia.  He died on July 10, 1884 in Coweta County, Georgia.  He was buried in the Pike/Powers/Huggins Cemetery in Newnan, Coweta, Georgia.

11.  Jesse Powers was born in October 1885 in Coweta County, Georgia.
