John Weaver

John Weaver (son of Edward Weaver and Mary Griffis) was born on February 26, 1760 in Albemarle Parish, Surry, Virginia. He died in 1804 in Wilkes County, Georgia.  He married Elizabeth Jarrett (daughter of Fadda Jarrett and Martha Ivey). She died in November 1820 in Wilkes County, Georgia.

Notes:

1785 - Moved to Kettle Creek in Wilkes County, Georgia.
1786 – John Weaver receives 287 and ½ acres of land in bounty certificate assigned by Col. Elijah Clarke
1793 -- Fadda named three sons-in-law and one son in a transfer of property:: James Roan son-in-law Nicholas Jarrott, son Richard Sappington, son-in-law John Weaver, son-in-law 

Land transaction from a book by Elizabeth Ramsey (now deceased) p. 271, Transfer of sale of personal estate of John Weaver, widower of Elizabeth Weaver (nee Jarrett). It states that, "RICHARD SAPPINGTON, BROTHER-IN-LAW, made a return on the the personal estate of John Weaver for $1,987.00 and three tracts of land."

1804 – Elizabeth Weaver and Richard Sappington are appointed temporary administrators of John Weaver’s estate.

Warrant for distribution says to be divided into 10 shares of $237.96 each. Only nine shares paid.
