David Eugene Canterbury

David Eugene Canterbury (son of James Virgil Canterbury and Betty Katherine Skeens) was born on August 14, 1951 in Mercer County, West Virginia.  He died on March 8, 2013 in Bluefield, Mercer, West Virginia.  He married Linda Ann Hylton (daughter of William Truman Hylton and Dollie Mae Walls) on August 9, 1971 in Giles County, Virginia.  She was born on January 20, 1955.

David Eugene Canterbury
INGLESIDE -- David Eugene Canterbury, 61, of the Hardy community near Ingleside died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield.
Born August 14, 1951 in Mercer County, he was the son of Betty Katherine Skeens Canterbury, of St. Albans, W. Va. and the late James Virgil Canterbury.  David was a former employee of Bartlett Tree Service and S. S. Belcher Company.  He had been a lifelong residence of the Princeton area.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Steven Canterbury Sr. and one infant sister, Judith K. Canterbury.
Additional survivors include his wife, Linda Ann Hylton Canterbury of Ingleside, one son, David E. "Doc" Canterbury, Jr., of Ingleside, two daughters, Angela Dawn Canterbury of Glenwood Park and Janet Rose Canterbury of Richlands, Va., two granddaughters, Laura Roselia Canterbury and Rosa Jamilet Canterbury., two sons-in-laws, David Burgos and Alfred Ronald Cocus.; two brothers, James Virgil Canterbury Jr. and William Gary Canterbury, both of Princeton and three sisters, Betty Lou Hensley, of Bluefield, Lois Elaine Hindre of Rock, and Connie Jean Canterbury of St. Albans, W. Va.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Brown Cemetery, Peggy Branch Road at Hardy with the Rev. Jiggs Coburn officiating.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  There will be no visitation.  Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cenetery by the service hour on Thursday.
