Ethel Thornton (daughter of Lucius Walter Thornton and Mary Anna Weaver). was born on December 6, 1892 in Georgia. She died in May 1980. She married Edwin Glenn Gilbert (son of William E. Gilbert and Lucy F.) on February 14, 1918 in Fulton County, Georgia. He was born on August 23, 1879 in Cobb County, Georgia. He died on September 4, 1962 in Fulton County, Georgia.
Ethel Thornton and Edwin Glenn Gilbert are buried in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia.

Gilbert - Funeral services for Mr. Edwin Glenn Gilbert will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, 1962, at 10:30 o'clock at Lowndes' chapel, Dr. H. Dan Rice and Dr. O. Norman Shands officiating. Interment, Westview. The following will serve as pallbearers: Mr. A. A. Hall, Mr. George W. Smith, Mr. William H. Gilbert, Mr. Fred Betterton, Mr. W. C. Hayes and Mr. W. J.
