Doris Gray Lunsford

Doris Gray Lunsford (daughter of Fornie Lunsford and Maggie Welch).  She was born on March 19, 1923 in Person County, North Carolina.  She died on August 30, 2011 in Roxboro, Person, North Carolina.  She married William Bradsher Nutt (son of William Jefferson Nutt and Lovelia Townsend).  He was born on September 18, 1917 in Person County, North Carolina.  He died on August 29, 1942 in Allensville, Person, North Carolina. 

William Bradsher Nutt and Doris Gray Lunsford were buried in Surl Primitive Baptist Church in Person County, North Carolina.

There were no children to this union.

She married Willie Thomas Chandler (son of Elder Lex Chandler and Verna Lunsford).  He was born on June 28, 1923 in Person County, North Carolina.  He died on April 23, 2018 in Roxboro, Person, North Carolina.

Willie Thomas Chandler was buried in Surl Primitive Baptist Church in Person County, North Carolina.

Doris Gray Lunsford Chandler, age 88, of 4455 Oxford Rd., died Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in the Person Memorial Hospital. She was born in Person County and was the daughter of the late Fornie Lunsford and Maggie Welch Lunsford. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Medford Lunsford and Edsel Lunsford, two sisters, Frances Huff, Lorean Hill and one daughter-in-law, Debbie Chandler. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary and attended Surl Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Willie Chandler, three children; Billy Chandler and wife Betty, Steve Chandler of Roxboro; Lu-Anne Laws and husband Landis of Durham; one sister Willie Ree Broach of Hurdle Mills; five grandchildren, Ryan Chandler, Rodney Chandler, Lance Chandler, Stephanie Chandler, and Matthew Chandler; four great-grandchildren, Abby Chandler,Nicholas Chandler, Kayla Chandler, and Lacey Chandler.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Surl Primitive Baptist Church. Officiating will be Elder David Minter. Burial will follow in the Surl Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Chandler, Lance Chandler, Rodney Chandler, Matthew Chandler, D.C. Horton, Thurman Kirk, and Lex Clayton.
The family received friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Surl Primitive Baptist Church and other times at the home.
Obituary of Willie Thomas Chandler - The Courier Times - April 25, 2018 
Willie Thomas Chandler, 94, of 4299 Oxford Rd., died Monday, April 23, 2018. Born in Person County, Mr. Chandler was the son of the late Elder Lex and Mrs. Verna Lunsford Chandler and husband of the late Doris Lunsford Chandler. Mr. Chandler retired from RPC and attended Helena and Surl Primitive Baptist Churches. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was also preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Debbie Chandler.
Mr. Chandler is survived by his son, Billy R. Chandler and wife Betty; his daughter, Lu-Anne Chandler Laws and husband Landis, of Durham; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Surl Primitive Baptist Church by the Elder David Minter and the Elder Jimmy Gray. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Surl Primitive Baptist Church prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Chandler, Lance Chandler, Rodney Chandler, Matthew Chandler, Buck Kirk, Billy Riley, and Wesley Morris.

Obituary of Stevie Jones Chandler - March 2014
Stevie Jones Chandler age 59 of 4483 Oxford Road died Sunday morning at Wake Medical Center. He was born in Person County. His mother, Doris Lunsford Chandler and his wife, Debbie Long Chandler preceded him in death. Stevie was employed by Progress Energy for 40 years. He was a member of the Helena Primitive Baptist Church where he was a Deacon.
Surviving are his father, Willie Thomas Chandler of Roxboro, three children, Rodney Chandler and Stephanie Chandler both of Roxboro, Matthew Chandler and wife Cindy of Timberlake; 2 grandchildren, Abby Chandler and Kayla Chandler; one brother, Billy Chandler of Roxboro and one sister, Lu-Anne Laws of Durham.
The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 PM, an hour prior to the service, at Surl Primitive Baptist Church on Wednesday.
The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, at Surl Primitive Baptist Church with the Elder David Minter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Obituary of Debbie Long Chandler -- December 2010
Debbie Long Chandler, age 56, of Seven Pier Road, died Thursday at the UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Halifax County, VA and was the daughter of the late Stover Long and Rebecca Boyles Long. She was a member of the Helena Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Steve Chandler of the home; two sons, Rodney Chandler of Roxboro; Matthew Chandler and wife Cindy of Timberlake; one daughter, Stephanie Chandler and partner Angie of Roxboro; one sister, Brenda Long Wolfe of Winston Salem; four grandchildren, Abby Chandler, Kayla Ann Chandler, Kaitlyn Perra, and Sierra Perra, and her beloved boxer, Zoie.
