He married Mamie Sue Welch (daughter of Larry Welch and Alma Duncan) on September 24, 1938 in Halifax County, Virginia. She was born on September 2, 1921 in North Carolina. She died on May 28, 2010.
David Cash and Mamie Sue Welch are buried at Lystra Baptist Church Cemetery in Farrington, Chatham, North Carolina.
