Ernest Dale McGraw (son of Etsie Bryan McGraw and Grace Mae Cozort ) was born on November 29, 1923 in Meadow Bridge, Fayette, West Virginia. He died on March 9, 2017 in Lynchburg, Virginia. He married Mildred Luanna Bevins (daughter of Charles H. Bevins and Helen Neiderhaiser). She was born on April 2, 1929 in Lenox, Taylor, Iowa. She died on August 18, 2013 in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Ernest Dale McGraw and Mildred Luanna Bevins were buried in Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Crawley, Greenbrier, West Virginia.

Mildred "Mikey" Bivens McGraw, of Lynchburg, Virginia, formerly of Meadow Bridge, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 following a long illness. Born April 2, 1929 in Lenox, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Helen Neiderhaiser Bevins. Mildred taught school in Iowa and was a drama director for Empire Production Company of St. Louis, Missouri. At the time of her marriage, she was a personnel representative for Bell Telephone Company in Omaha, Nebraska. Mildred faithfully attended the Meadow Bridge Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Marcia A. McGraw; her brother Charles Bivens; niece Dorothy Dukes; nephew Charles Bevins; and great-nephew Jerry Bivens. Survivors include her loving husband, Ernest D. McGraw of Lynchburg, Virginia, formerly of Meadow Bridge; her loving daughter Teresa M. Warner and husband James E. of Lynchburg, Virginia; her grandson Sean M. Warner of Lynchburg, Virginia; sister-in-law Shirley McGraw of Meadow Bridge; nieces Wilma Shearer, Helen Hinshaw, Linda Hogan and husband Dean, Cathy Warner, Lauren Brown and Bobby Konkler; nephews Allen Dukes and wife Debbie, Leroy Dukes and wife Kay; step-nieces Kayte Mullen, Nancy Reuschel, and Jamie Mumon; and step-nephew Jerry McGraw. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Inc., with Pastor Mike Whisman officiating. Burial will be in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville. Ernest "Ernie" Dale McGraw, 93, of Lynchburg, Virginia, formerly of Meadow Bridge, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017, in the Heartland of Lynchburg, following short illness. Born November 29, 1923, at Meadow Bridge, he was the son of the late Etsie and Grace Cozort McGraw. Ernie was a graduate of Meadow Bridge High School; attended Concord College; served in the US Army where he retired from the 811th Reserve Unit as a Lt. Colonel; taught school on Backus Mountain; retired after 38 years as the Meadow Bridge Postmaster; enjoyed farming and gardening; loved to cook; and was an extraordinary civic servant. He was in the Meadow Bridge Kiwanis; a 32nd Degree Shriner; a Boy Scout Leader; sponsored the Meadow Bridge Key Club; and in his spare time did tax preparation and bookkeeping. He had a love of flowers and could grow anything. Ernie served as mayor of Meadow Bridge twice. He oversaw the water project for Meadow Bridge; helped start the Senior Citizens' Center at Meadow Bridge; volunteered with the Heart and American Cancer Society; served as president of the Meadow Bridge High School Reunion Committee; helped start the Army Reserve center in Rainelle and a member of the Meadow Bridge Missionary Baptist Church. Ernie was a man who loved his family, his friends, his community and his country. In addition to his parents, Ernie is preceded in death by his beloved wife, of 59 years, Mildred "Mikey" Bevins McGraw; a daughter Marcia McGraw; 1 brother Roy McGraw; and 2 sisters Marie Griffith and Maxine Russell. Survivors include his loving daughter Teresa Warner and husband Jim of Lynchburg, Virginia; 1 sister Shirley McGraw of Meadow Bridge; 1 grandson Sean Warner of Lynchburg, Virginia; and a host of extended family and friends. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 12, in the Meadow Bridge Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Haskett and former Pastor Mike Wiseman officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville. Pallbearers will be Frank Carr, Gary Kincaid, Jerry McGraw, Ronnie Smith, Gary Pomeroi and Darrell Bennett.
