Mrs. Lena Harvell, age 70 of Bowdon, passed away Thursday morning July 5, 1973 in a Carrollton hospital after a lengthy illness.Photograph of Gravestone -- Lena B. McIntosh
She was born in Heard County April 5, 1903, the daughter of the lae Wallace and Etta Powers McIntosh. Mrs. Harvell was a member of the Bowdon Church of Christ and a life long residence of the area.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Johnson and Mrs. Louise Farmer both of Bowdon; one son Raymond Harvell, Buchanan; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, five sister, Mrs. Kate Jones and Mrs. Fannie Mae Armstrong both of Bowdon; Mrs. Etta Marlow and Mrs. Maggie Arthur both of FitzGerald; Mrs. Maggie Potts, Ocilla; one brother, Hubie McIntosh, Carrollton.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 6, 1973 at 4:00 p.m. from the Bowdon Church of Christ with Minister Richard Barnes officiating. Music was furnished by the church choir. Interment was in the Rolling Acres Memory Gardens. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers Jerry Wilson, J. H. Brock, Gerald Scales, Curtis Benefield, Gene Rowland and Lonnie Hammond.
Rainwater Funeral Home, Bowdon, was in charge of arrangements.
