Michael Powers served in the Civil War. He enlisted in the spring of 1862 and served in Co F in the 19th Georgia Infantry. He was wounded in April 1865 and sent home.
They are both buried at Lee's Chapel Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery in Carroll County, Georgia.
They had the following children:

4. James Wilburn Powers was born on October 10, 1870.

7. Michael Sylvester Powers was born in April 1879.
8. Joseph Lawrence Powers was born on March 22, 1882.
9. Sallie Lee Powers was born on June 13, 1886.
